More Arrow insights

I have a bit of a habit now, every night I lie in bed and either watch the Arrow series over again or a number of other ones such as Birds of Prey, Flash just to name a few.   When I go back to the 90's series of Birds of Prey I am not just looking at the series from a story line perspective, but also from the perspective of special effects, computer generation and so forth.  I find it interesting the quality of video and how that has changed to today's crystal clear images.  I love the comparisons with the use of old computer generated images to the new and the evolution of it all.
This is another reason for my enjoyment of the Arrow series and the use of all the stunt people seamlessly inserted in to where ever they are needed.
Watching Arrow over again I see things I missed previously, I am finding myself looking for clues to the things that happen in the next episodes and have a giggle at myself when I still miss them, so I go and look again.  The analysis is really beginning now as I delve deeper into it all.
Some times I over look the story or the plot of each series as I try to find little indications of what is to come in the next episode. Yes I go back again lol maybe I should just hit the pause button and slowly skip through each component.
Eventually I figure what the heck let it be life can be too short for all of this anyway and the enjoyment really is in the watching and the melding of all the elements.
My thought process returns to the reason why I watch the DC series at this point and it is a great process of escapism from my every day life and the often dullness of it.
Series like Arrow tend to make me want more out of my life and to make it a better life.
I am not saying I am going to go out a start a vigilant plight of my own, I am just saying I want more from what I am doing now.
I will be striving to get more out of my art that I create and improving myself in that regard, painting more will be a priority. Anyway I am side tracking here.
Elementally speaking the use of colour, style, design, and all the other principles of such are intertwined well to create the right atmosphere in each scene. For example the fight scenes often occur at night and thus the use of  blacks, dark greens, rich reds convey the feeling of intensity and darkness creating that connection to the action occurring.
Ok I am probably baffling some people here, and I am probably over analysing it all, but I think you can get the gist of what I am saying.
I have heard and noted that a number of the actors have a tendency to perform some of the stuns themselves and knowing that Stephen does Parquor, Caity has done martial arts along with Katrina makes the series more exciting to me too as I feel these actors are stepping up the game in the industry and not  conforming to the nor of every time bringing in the Stunt double.
My hat is off to these Actors for having the guts to try more and not just portray the  characters verbally but actually truly get into the action of the persons  they are portraying.
If we want to  be hypocritcal of a series lets take a long hard look at the reality shows, seriously people OMG I am over the reality rubbish, as far as I can see 90% really isn't reality any way and if I see one more episode of the damn Kardashians on my TV Guide I think I am going to scream.
I'll take Arrow over all of that any day of the week.
Ok I have given you more to ponder and contemplate as you watch the series and if you don't maybe I have given you a reason too? Who knows all I know is, is what I like and what I don't like, and TV viewing for me at this point is seriously down right dull.

So Season 4 is done and dusted.

How many have watched the whole season so far?

I have managed to get all episodes in and again I enjoyed the series.   The Damien Dhark element and black magic added to in did put a more different spin to the Series than the League of Assassins....
I am still thinking on Malcolm Merlin taking some of Savage's ashes from the Flash cross over........... I am hoping this will be expanded on as we all know Malcolm is certainly always up to something and it generally does not turn out to be good...

I would love to see Speedy (Thea) give him a really ass kicking for all he has put her through......
I think if I was in her shoes I would be certainly as peed off at him as she is...
I would certainly love to know how HIVE built the underground bunker and when.  That was a touch on the Truman show element of being in a totally closed off world that was by no means the outside world..
Then of course is the Black Canaries death.... Surround by the every looming threat Dhark had made to Lance about his daughter..... I find it interesting how the writers chose to have her severely injured in the prison where Dhark was with no less than one of Oliver's arrows being used against him as the murder weapon.
What are we all thinking of the black magic element and Oliver's interaction with white magic?
I have to admit when Oliver first hit Damian with it the look on Damian's face was hilarious almost priceless.   I did have a laugh at that for a while, and then there's is Thea's interaction with him prior.  That was a classic reaction but the fact that when he touched Thea and she could take it was an interesting element I wish was a bit more elaborated on as like Thea I want to know why his magic did not affect her and it almost appeared as if the contact was killing him and not her.....  I think there could have been something in that.
Maybe they will elaborate on that later.
One can only hope.
There are a number of people complaining about the magic elements added to the series, well why not I mean it is a comic book series based on ficticious characters so why not add the mystical elements to the series?  Is this series really that far a cry from previous comic remakes such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and so forth?
So why is hard to believe that this is anything but methodically different from those?  Then based on those thoughts why not accept the mystical, why not accept Olive used some magic, why not accept the leaping of buildings, the amazing stunts performed, the seemingly impossible?
What is the hard in believing in the impossible the................ well way out there, the uncomprehendable.
So instead of maybe criticizing it all how bout we just sit back and enjoy Arrow for what it is, a boys dreams and fantasies to bring DC comics to life............. And what a reality his /their dreams have become.

Arrow Series love it hate it

I have been watching the Arrow series since it began and while like any series it has it's ups and downs.  For me for the most part I love it.
It has some of the most awesome special effects and stunts and even if some of the story lines and plots sometimes don't make sense or seem, well waffly, we have to realise that it is based on comic book characters from the DC Universe.  One also has to realise the era they were written in and what was happening at the time and what imaginations these people had.
Now in this era of the computer we can manipulate amazing ideas and put them on the big screen.
Now I know there are some not into the Olicity story lines and that is ok, but does it really matter? In the big scheme of things I love what this series is bringing to life, the pure escapism of it all, to be absorbed by a series that is visually tantilizing and to think how they have blended computer generation with, stunt masters and amazing actors is artistically incredible.
The details and the fine ones are that are very important and I have to say it is all cut together almost seamlessly.

Series one was a brilliant introduction to the characters, plots and ideas of the comics from a realistic perspective. To bring the initial ideas of origin, stranded on Lian yu after the Queen's Gambit goes down, getting the list of his dad, too his return home.  All brilliantly portrayed with such visual backgrounds and well acted characters.
I think sometimes people truly forget what goes on behind the scenes to bring all the elements together seamlessly just to create on scene netherlone the entire hour of the program.  There seems to be no respect from the haters as to what effort, time and money are required to create this show week after week and would rather try and bring the entire thing down.
I think maybe these persons need to spend the time those involved in the show do to create one episode and maybe then they would have a new found appreciation for the show, or maybe not, who knows.   Well if they can  do better then go for it, at the end of the day we have a stayer, this show is now in it's 4th and going on to it's 5th season and that is clearly for a good reason.

I am enjoying it regardless of what others think we are, after all, entitled to our own opinions and we all don't have to like the same things, so if you really don't like it then don't watch it simple.  Go read the comics again and enjoy them.
Time to get off the channel then and find something else to like life is way too short for constant hate and besides it can be too darn exhausting.

I will keep watching no matter what others think.
So thank you all for bringing the DC comics to life keep it up.
Until next time and after I finish watching season 4 :) take care all and read more DC and Marvel Comics even if it's just for the art.

So I have thought about this more too, in this day and age what is wrong with a bit of escapism.  To get away from the exhaustion of everyday life including to some our jobs.  Isn't it just great to come home and put your feet up with a cuppa or what ever you prefer put the TV on and watch Arrow?
Does it really matter how brilliant to some it is or how horrid it is to others?
What is wrong with having some hope in this world even if it is through this series?  Yeah sure some may not have a preference for the magical elements but I feel some forget this is based on comics is it not?
Ok so I am putting a lot of questions out there I know.  But I am here to make you ponder, make you look at this from different angles.  I am disappointed that our society seems to have not only lost it's moral compass but seemingly created a world of ever increasing hate.  I have seen the internet become a medium for the full explosion of this hate as it would appear people think that being behind the keyboard some how makes it ok.
Anyway I digress.  As I said I am putting a lot of questions out there and when we think of the past series based on comic book characters and how they were executed we have come a long way, particularly with the use of computers and they power they hold in their tiny processors.  I have seen computer generated images that you would swear blind were the real deal (of course I know Bruce Lee is dead.)  So the implementation of this medium into the Arrow series is practically seamless, not that I sit there going frame by frame looking for the input of such images.

So I guess for me it is the combination of all the elements that is why I am loving the series no matter what season it is.  But then I am an artist lol.
